Ingredients
2cupGreen gram beans [moong dal]
1cupBasmati rice
1Black cardamon
3Green cardamon
2inchCinnamon
1Bay leaf
4Cloves
1tbspGarlic paste
1tbspGinger paste
1tbspRed chili powder
1tbspTurmeric powder
1tbspCoriander powder
1tbspCumin powder
1/2tbspGaram masala powder
1/3cup Mustard oil
1/4cup Fried onions
Salt to taste
1/2cupOnionssliced
4Green chilis
Instructions
First wash the rice and moong dal and keep it aside.
Then take the pot of the rice cooker and add the rice and moong dal.
Add all the dry ingredients along with the powder spices.
Now add mustard oil and fried onions and green chilis and mix it well using your hands.
After finishing mixing, add 6 cups of water and place it in the rice cooker and set the rice cooker button to cook from warm.
After the khichdi gets cooked, open the lid and serve it hot.
Notes
Garnish it with fried onions and serve it with beef/chicken curry.
