Excellent Curry Comfort: Enjoy an epic Chicken Potato Bliss

Recipe for Chicken potato curry

  • 500 grams Chicken
  • 5 Potatoes cut in large cube shape
  • 1/2 cup Onions chopped
  • 1 tbsp Garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp Ginger paste
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 3 Cardamon
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 tbsp Red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Kashmiri chili powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp Cumin powder
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 Green chilis


  • Clean the chicken first then cut it in 8 pieces.
  • Take a saucepan and put oil in it, put the flame in medium.
  • Add cinnamon, cardamon, bay leaf and onions in it and stir until the onions get light brown in color.
  • Add garlic and ginger paste and stir for 2 minutes.
  • Add salt, chili, turmeric, coriander and cumin powder it in and mix well.
  • Add 2 tbsp of water so that the spices do not get burned.
  • Stir until the oil separates.
  • Add chicken and 2 cups of water, mix well and close the lid and let it cook.
  • After 20 minutes check if the chicken gets cooked.
  • Add the potatoes, close the lid again.
  • After 15 minutes open the lid and add green chilis.
  • Turn the flame in low and let it cook for another 10 minutes.
  • Turn off the flame after 10 minutes and serve it hot.


Serve it with plain rice or paratha.
