Recipe for Chicken potato curry
Ingredients
- 500 grams Chicken
- 5 Potatoes cut in large cube shape
- 1/2 cup Onions chopped
- 1 tbsp Garlic paste
- 1 tbsp Ginger paste
- 1 inch Cinnamon
- 3 Cardamon
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1 tbsp Red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp Kashmiri chili powder
- 1/2 tbsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1 tbsp Cumin powder
- 3 tbsp Oil
- Salt to taste
- 3 Green chilis
Instructions
- Clean the chicken first then cut it in 8 pieces.
- Take a saucepan and put oil in it, put the flame in medium.
- Add cinnamon, cardamon, bay leaf and onions in it and stir until the onions get light brown in color.
- Add garlic and ginger paste and stir for 2 minutes.
- Add salt, chili, turmeric, coriander and cumin powder it in and mix well.
- Add 2 tbsp of water so that the spices do not get burned.
- Stir until the oil separates.
- Add chicken and 2 cups of water, mix well and close the lid and let it cook.
- After 20 minutes check if the chicken gets cooked.
- Add the potatoes, close the lid again.
- After 15 minutes open the lid and add green chilis.
- Turn the flame in low and let it cook for another 10 minutes.
- Turn off the flame after 10 minutes and serve it hot.
Notes
Serve it with plain rice or paratha.
