Methi Mania: Elevate Your Chicken in Creamy Coconut


Methi chicken in coconut milk is a tantalizing dish that combines the rich flavors of methi (fenugreek) with the creamy goodness of coconut milk. This fusion of ingredients creates a unique and delicious combination that is sure to please your taste buds.

  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 500 ml Coconut milk
  • 1 cup Chopped onion
  • 2 tsp Fenugreek leaves
  • 1 tbsp Garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp Ginger paste
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri chili powder
  • 0.5 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1.5 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1.5 tsp Coriander powder
  • 0.5 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 0.5 tsp Mace powder
  • 1/4 cup Oil
  • Salt to taste


  • Take a saucepan and put oil to warm.
  • Add chopped onions and stir until it gets light brown, now add garlic ginger paste and stir it for 2 minutes.
  • Then add red and kashmiri chili powder, turmeric, cumin and coriander, garam masala and mace powder and 2 tablespoons of water and stir it for 5 minutes on low flame.
  • After 5 minutes add the chicken and mix it well, now add the coconut milk and stir it.
  • Let the chicken cook on medium flame.
  • After the chicken gets fully cooked turn the flame on low heat and add the fenugreek leaves on it.
  • Keep it on flame for 2 minutes, then turn off the flame.
  • Garnish it with some coriander leaves.


Serve it hot with roti or paratha.
