Sweet and Sour Symphony: Prawn Balls in a Flavorful Curry

Sweet and sour prawn ball curry

For prawn ball marination

  • 15 Prawn medium size
  • 1 tbsp Flour
  • 1 tbsp Corn flour
  • 1/2 tbsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

For gravy

  • 2 tbsp Garlic chopped
  • 1 big Onion diced in cube shape
  • 1 Capsicum
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar

For sauce mixture

  • 2 tbsp Tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Chili flakes


  • First blend the prawns in a food processor.
  • Add flour, corn flour, baking powder, red chili powder, black pepper and salt in the minced prawn and mix it well.
  • Make small balls from the mixture and fry the ball until it gets golden brown.
  • Take another saucepan and add oil and chopped garlic in it.
  • Add onions and capsicum and stir for 4 minutes.
  • Now add the sauce mixture along with 3 tbsp of water.
  • Add the fried prawns and mix it well.
  • Close the lid and let it cook for 5 minutes on high flame.
  • Open the lid and add sugar in it.
  • Again let it cook for another 5 minutes on medium flame.
  • After 5 minutes, turn off the flame.


Serve it hot with thai fried rice.
